SHOWKAT RASOOL:  NATIONAL CURLING CHAMPION

Showkat Rasool Shines, as Jammu and Kashmir Claims Gold in National Curling Championship at Gulmarg, J&K. In a moment of immense pride, Showkat Rasool, representing Jammu and Kashmir clinched the Gold Medal in the 4th National Curling Championship held at the scenic ski resort of Gulmarg. Rasool an engineer in the Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Department demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, Zeal and thus surpassed all his opponents to emerge victorious.

This achievement not only showcased Rasool’s outstanding curling skills but also highlighted his dedication to balancing professional responsibilities with his passion for sports. A committed and talented sportsperson, Rasool’s resilience and remarkable performance throughout the championship earned him the prestigious gold medal in this highly competitive event.

Adding to the glory, Jammu and Kashmir’s Senior Mixed Curling Team secured a historic Gold Medal in the same championship. The team, led by Er Showkat Rasool as the skip, displayed extraordinary precision, strategy and team spirit during the intense competition held at the Curling Arena in Gulmarg. Teams from across the country competed fiercely, but J&K emerged as a dominant force.

The winning team comprised Er Showkat Rasool, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat, Tariq Ahmad, and Saba Arjumand. Their journey was marked by impressive victories, including matches against formidable opponents like Arunachal Pradesh and Haryana. The thrilling final match secured their place as champions, earning well-deserved recognition for their hard work and commitment.
