HERO OF KASHMIR: AHMED TAHA MASOODY’S REMARKABLE FEAT AT PENCAK SILAT CHAMPIONSHIP

In the realm of Sports, age is often a less significant factor than raw talent and unwavering dedication. Ahmed Taha Masoody, a rising star from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, has carved his name into Indian sports history with an extraordinary performance in two National Pencak Silat Championships. Held from  16 to 21 Nov 2024, in Srinagar, these events brought together over 1,500 athletes from 32 states across India. Amidst Neck-and-neck competition, Ahmed emerged the youngest and  victorious by clinching four gold medals across various events—a testament to his exceptional talent and determination.

This triumph adds another prestigious accolade to Ahmed’s burgeoning collection, solidifying his position as a rising star in the realm of martial arts. Ahmed Taha is a  beacon of hope for the other youngster of J & K UT.

With this feat, Ahmed’s national-level medal tally now stands at an impressive 12 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze over the past five years, cementing his position as a dominant force in Pencak Silat. This  remarkable achievement has earned him a spot at the prestigious World Championship in Abu Dhabi, set to take place from 18 to 22 Dec , 2024.

Ahmed credits his success to the unwavering support of his family and the mentorship of his coach, Mohd Iqbal, whose guidance has been instrumental in shaping his martial arts career. Reflecting on his journey, Ahmed expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunities he has received and pledged to bring pride to India on the international stage.

The recent championships in Srinagar highlighted India’s growing prominence in Pencak Silat, showcasing talent from across the country.
