MANINDERJIT KALA: FROM KASHMIR TO AUSTRALIA, AND NOW ONE OF THE AUSTRALIA’S TOP ENTREPRENEURS

Maninderjit Kala, also known as Mannu, commenced his business in Khojabagh, Baramulla, his hometown. In 2009, after completing his formal education, he pursued a master’s degree in journalism in Australia. Since then, he has emerged as one of the country’s foremost businessmen. He attributes his leadership skills and business acumen to his time spent in Australia, where he and his partner nurtured themselves.

While Mannu initially aspired to break into the media profession due to his growing passion for TV journalism, his journey unexpectedly veered towards entrepreneurship. Fast forward to 2023, and Mannu Kala has achieved remarkable success, earning recognition as one of Australia’s top 100 entrepreneurs.

As a Director and Co-Founder of KnG Group, he secured the 14th position among the country’s best entrepreneurs this year. KnG Group spans diverse industries, including healthcare, education, technology, cyber security, and home care. “Being in the top 15 of that list is pretty amazing for a two-year-old company,” he remarked proudly. The awards ceremony, hosted by Business News Australia, celebrated the most outstanding business minds under 40. Among the Gold Coast’s representatives, two companies – HiSmile and K&G Group (formerly Covax Australia) – made it to the top 15, with K&G Group coming in 14th place.

Reflecting on his role as an entrepreneur, Kala expressed, “I aim to make a positive impact on the world, even though I acknowledge that I may not fully comprehend the definition of the term.” He added, “My journey began in the small town of Baramulla in Kashmir, but I now proudly call the Gold Coast of Australia my home. I view life as an adventure full of opportunities to touch the lives of others, make a difference, and leave a lasting impact. I consider myself fortunate to be alive and to have the chance to contribute something significant to this world.”

Turning to the company, KnG Group, established in 2020 by Mannu Kala and Dr. Anuj Gupta, was formed to provide innovative solutions to the challenges posed by the pandemic. Covax Australia, its healthcare subsidiary, is now known as KnG Healthcare and is a part of the business group called The KnG Group. The team engages in various government initiatives in the fields of energy, nursing homes, cyber security, education, and healthcare.

Mannu’s path to success was not without its challenges. He undertook several projects before founding Australia’s premier firm. He established Dynamic Pathology in 2011 and Medlab Pathology in 2016, both of which made substantial contributions to the field of pathology. Mannu’s perseverance and tenacity, rooted in his Kashmiri background, have been pivotal to his success. Today, Mannu Kala’s business stands as a well-known and award-winning enterprise in Australia, celebrated for its innovation, professionalism, and commitment to quality. He is determined to continue working diligently and making a difference in his valley by showcasing its strengths.
